General FAQ's

Order Placement

How does your order system work?

We operate primarily on a pre-order basis. Once you place an order from our current catalogue, production will take 20 working days

Why are Dye Lab pieces so limited?

One of our core principles at Dyelab is minimal waste. We only produce in small batches when orders are placed. This helps us to ensure a standardized quality and keep each piece unique. Any excess fabric we have is used to produce one-off pieces that you can only get at select retailers or at our pop ups.

Why don’t you offer custom lining color options?

Our linings are randomly selected based on available fabric. This adds to the uniqueness of each piece and prevents waste.

How do I order the right size?

Please see our sizing guide and each product information before concluding your order.

Our Hand-dyed agbadas and kimonos come in one size and are a standard length of 58.5".

However, they can be adjusted for length.

Can I make changes to an order I've already placed?

Yes you can. kindly send us an email with the changes you would like to make. Please note

that we start reproduction again with every order change -this means it will take 10 working days after changes have been made.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship to?

We ship worldwide via DHL.

When will I get my order?

For local orders, deliveries may take 1-3 working days upon completion of orders. For international orders, deliveries may take 4-7 working days upon completion of orders.

Delivery timelines are dependent on the locations.

Can I return or exchange my item?

Returns and exchanges are accepted in certain cases. We ask that you make sure the items have not been worn, washed or damaged, and that you ship them back in the original packaging and box.

How long do I have to make a return?

10 days from the date of delivery.

Is there a return fee?

Yes.

Customers are responsible for payment of any shipping fees, customs, duties, and taxes associated with returns.

Please note a refund on returned goods is only done once the item has been returned to us and all fees paid for. Any costs not paid but incurred during the return process will be deducted from the refund and the net balance refunded.

Why do I have to pay for a return?

While some companies build in return fees into their prices, we charge only the exact cost of shipping your items to you so that we can keep our prices as low as possible. This way, you’re not paying for returns or shipping you might never make.

Can I return sale items?

Only regular priced items may be refunded or returned. Unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

What do I do if I receive a wrong order?

We sincerely apologize for such an error. In the event that you have received a wrong order, kindly mail our Support Team via orders@dyelab.ng for a return. Wrong Items will be exchanged or refunded upon return at no charge.

Risk of loss

All products purchased from the website are transported and delivered to you by an independent carrier not affiliated with, or controlled by DYE LAB. Title to the products purchased on the website, as well as the risk of loss for such products, passes to you when DYE LAB delivers these items to the carrier.

Product Variation

Why does my order look different from the piece I saw online?

No two Dye Lab pieces are exactly alike. Our fabrics are hand-dyed in small batches by individual artisans when orders are placed. This means that colors and prints may vary slightly.

My order arrived with marks on the fabric. Is this normal?

Yes, a few wax marks from our dyeing process may remain but will fade after a few washes.

If there are other stains, please contact us.

Why does the fabric texture of my recent order feel different from my last one?

We use only Funtua (a Nigerian sourced cotton) for all our cotton pieces. Due to the small batch production, the texture may vary slightly but the high quality remains the same.

Care Guide

How do I care for my Dye Lab piece?

To prolong the colour and quality of your Dyelab pieces, we recommend you dry clean or hand wash them in cold water with mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents, prolonged sun exposure and any dryer cycles as much as you can.

Will the dye fade over time?

Some natural fading may occur with wear and washing, but following our care instructions will help maintain vibrancy.

How do I care for my Baule Kita collar?

Our Ivorian sourced Baule Kita can be prone to bleeding. We recommend DRYCLEAN ONLY for any pieces with Baule Kita.
